  • Vehicles' crossing behaviors were analyzed from the perspective of conflict avoidance, their decision rules during crossing process were described by using field graph tool, and a driver's conflict avoidance decision model based on preemptive level was introduced, which was different with the conventional gap acceptance model.The distribution parameter of drivers' critical preemptive level threshold was calibrated by field conflict data, and statistical hypothesis was tested through Kolmogorov test method.Analysis result shows that among 437 groups of field conflict samples, 82.2% drivers' decisions are normal decisions, while 17.8% drivers' decisions are abnormal decisions, which indicates that there should be a physiological critical preemptive level, and the drivers' critical preemptive level threshold follows normal distribution N(0, 0.22).
