A Highway Network Planning Approach Based on Objective-evaluation Analysis

  • Aiming at the characteristic of highway network planning, a planning approach is presented, which adopts objective evaluation analysis as its core in network planning.The approach combines with several advantages of existing planning methods, analyzes the economy, traffic and resources in the planning area, and applies planning objectives as the guidance of infrastructure planning and uses the procedure of defining network construction scale layout route node as a comprehensive planning method, which based on the traffic volume forecasting results and project evaluation.Taking the freeway and trunk network planning in Shanghai as an example, the technical process, objectives, principles of network layout and technical evaluation framework of the planning are put forward.
