Densification of Asphalt Mixture

With the help of Superpave Gyratory Compactor, the data about the accurate change of asphalt mixture in height during the compaction in the lab, and the densification curve of test are derived. The curve can provide the inherent characteristics.The information has the same value as the densification characteristics under the traffic loads. The results indicated from the densification curves are analyzed, and whether the densification energy index can reflect the mixture's densification is questioned.
