  • When a flexible fuel automobile is fueled with gaseous fuel or gasoline, the optimum ignition advance angles are largely different. After a self adaptive ignition unit is applied, the ignition advance angle of the engine is automatically changed according to different fuels. This paper analyzes the software and hardware structures, and working principle of the self adaptive fuel ignition unit controlled by a single chip computer. The experimental results show that, after applying the ignition unit, the power output increases 2.6%~3.1%, the specific fuel consumption decreases 2.6%~3.4%.
