  • General principles and methods for improving urban road traffic and controlling motor vehicle pollution by the means of ITS technique are discussed.The ITS technique is not only as a way to improve transportation efficiency, but also as an important method for pollution control.As a real project, an electric not stop charge system that serves 25000 motor vehicles in Chongqing city, southwest of China is contrasted to stop charge method, the data from on site survey show that: CO becomes 1.72 times lower, NOx becomes 0.49 times lower and THC becomes 0.16 times lower.
