  • How to check collision must be solved in the design of the opening and closing mechanism of the lids of high speed train. Traditional interference detection way is quite tedious and time-consuming, so it is not suitable for the design requirements. Therefore, a method of interference detection was presented by using envelopes surface to replace the moving part. The opening and closing mechanism of the lids is looked as a plane four bar linkage. Based on the theory of envelopes for 1-parameter family of surfaces to analyze this plane four bar linkage, the mathematical modeling of enveloped surface of the lids was deduced accurately. This method is intuitive in geometry, less digital computation needed and easily programming using computer, so it is favorable for building the CAD/CAM software of the opening and closing mechanism of the lids.
