  • This paper analyses the stability of subgrade embankment during construction and after completion on sloped weak ground using limit equilibrium theory. Cross-sectional factors influencing the stability behavior of embankment, such as the ground slope, the thickness of weak layer and the height of embankment, are also explored. Research results show that the minimum safety factor will decrease when the embankment height, the weak layer thickness and the ground slope increase, and there are two kinds of failure models of subgrade embankment on sloped weak ground. Furthermore, some viewpoints concerning the construction of high fills are proposed as well.
