  • The sector partition is an important work of air traffic management, its operation affects the airspace capacity and security. The theoretic base for sector optimization, including the mathematical model describing the airspace structure of the topology, the statistic method of controller's workload, and the mathematical model for workload computation etc, is analyzed and established.The mathematical method for sector optimum partition is found, and the controller's workload-based application of sector optimization is programmed. The result of a practical example validated the correctness of theoretic base and the application for sector optimization.
