  • The temporary design criterion for computation additional longitudinal force between rail and abutment and pier on CWR bridge is still being studied at present in China, there are many items, which are deserved to discuss, one of them is the constant longitudinal resistance mechanics model. It is proved that additional flexible longitudinal force, which has the mechanics meaning, is probable not to exist for the long-span bridge with the model. When the load is light, the mechanics meaning solution for the additional winding force is also probably not exist with the model. Because of the shortcomings of the constant model, the variable longitudinal resistance mechanics model should be adopted on the long-span railway bridge.
