  • With the development of automobile and electronic industries, more and more x-by-wire systems are used to replace traditional mechanical systems. The main structure of steer-by-wire(SBW) system was described. The SBW system was subdivided into three main subsystems, such as steering wheel subsystem, controller subsystem and front wheel motor subsystem. Its function and working principle were analyzed. Its major features and key technologies were introduced, including sensor technology, bus technology, dynamical power and tolerance control technology. Its good application prospect and development tendency were presented.
