  • In order to optimize the timetable and achieve the maximal social benefit, the problem of optimizing timetable was divided into three dependent sub-problems, such as the first train time, the headway and the number of its running per day. A optimization model was established based on the minimization of passengers' cost and railway enterprises' operation cost. A analytical solution was presented for the model. The number of train running per day is 30 when the cost is minimum, the timetable is obtained. The computing result accords with the optimal result of real analysis, so the method is feasible.
