  • In order to decide the best timing of preventive maintenance of asphalt pavement, the evaluation indices of service performance and the characters of preventive maintenance were analyzed, an integrative evaluation index system of the timing was set up based on integrating pavement condition index, ride quality index, anti-skid coefficient and asphalt rutting index.The differences of traffic volumes, road environments and compound loads aimed at different roads were considered, the weight coefficients of subentry indices were computed by applying grey relation theory based on the practical status of road.Computation result shows that weight coefficients are 0.27, 0.21, 0.25 and 0.27 respectively, rutting index is a vital controlling target to reflect the nature of young asphalt pavement, and the weight values of subentry indices enable the selection time of the preventive maintenance more pertinent and practicable.
